What Will They Praise About You Today?
Imagine a room packed with entrepreneurs…
Standing to applaud YOU.
Not for a more ‘Best-Professional-Thing-This-Year’ award.
But for a lifetime’s influence on countless thousands of businesses and families.
That’s what we did yesterday.
We applauded and cheered a mild-mannered man.
And his impact on our relationships – inside and outside of business.
20 years ago, James Knight started testing, applying and teaching a simple, powerful, human behaviour system.
It’s called IMA
(Identify, Modify, Adapt)
In our collective experience, IMA:
- Enhances leadership
- Elevates teamwork
- Improves engagement
- Facilitates client service
- Smooths family relationships.
Yes, I know that there are several tools like this.
But the fact is… James designed this one.
And many of us have benefitted.
Yet, as Penny – hosting that emotional moment – hugged James…
here’s the comment that struck me with such force:
“You’ve given us the key to unlock the wall that we each build around ourselves!”
Come and See… how other leaders unlock walls around others.
Come as our Guest to our next, virtual, Tribe Meeting
(called ‘Tribe Breakouts’).
That’s 11th September, starting 3:30 pm.
We’ve decided to open up just 2 more Guest Seats.
And you can easily apply for that… right here.
Because we do that in business, don’t we?
We put on the suit of “The Professional”.
We arm ourselves with highly skilled, well-researched, knowledge-based questions.
In our leadership – of teams and of clients – we try to be guided by metrics and data… by projections and spreadsheets… by fact-finding and KPIs.
Meanwhile, the real person, hiding behind the ‘Lifestyle’…
Goes unheard.
It reminds me of the tender line within a song:
“In the quiet heart is hidden… sorrow that the eye can’t see.”
A line which reminds me that chasing revenue growth and success and lifestyle is all well and good.
But a leader – a real leader – goes much deeper than that.
A real leader listens to the voice calling from behind that wall.
A real leader seeks to understand the client’s life behind the accomplishment; behind the ‘story-to-impress-you’.
A real leader seeks – and liberates – the genius beyond the job spec.
A real leader recognises that their behaviour impacts family dynamics throughout the whole week – and weekend.
So, here’s the question…
What will they say about you and your work?
Will they hail your strategy and achievements?
Or will they rejoice at what you built… for them?
